Philanthropy mission statement: Alpha Xi Delta believes in the dignity of the individual child. Children deserve opportunities to develop to their fullest potential (intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically) in an environment conducive to the development of character, personal responsibility, good citizenship, and a sense of well-being. Individually and collectively, Alpha Xi Delta members and chapters support organizations that nurture the child.

Alpha Xi Delta's National Philanthropy is Choose Children. Alpha Xi Delta's interest in children and their special needs led us to adopt Choose Children, a initiative that emphasizes voluntary service in all areas of child well-being. Choose Children isn't an organization - it's an idea.

Alpha Xi Delta is not exclusively linked with one philanthropic organization. Alpha Xi Delta gives members the flexibility to look in their communities and decide how they can best benefit children.

Delta Epsilon hosts two annual events, the first is the "Save it or Shave it". One member of each fraternity volunteers to raise money for St. Jude's Hospital, the three losing fraternity members get their head shaved. The one fraternity member that wins gets to keep his hair, and one fourth of the proceeds go to the winning fraternity's philanthropy. The second event is the "Teddy Bear Christmas Social," where several organizations are invited and asked to bring Christmas presents that are donated to "Toys for Tots".
